One of the improvements included in the latest release of the TaxiMap fare price calculator is the ability to create date/time ranges and apply custom pricing to them. Read on to learn more about this new feature…
Custom Peak Pricing
Throughout the year there are public or bank holidays where taxi companies may want to charge premium fares. The most obvious examples are the Christmas and New Year periods.
TaxiMap’s peak factor feature allows cab firms to specify a value by which standard pricing is multiplied for peak hours. Up until now this has applied to recurring periods; either daily peak hours and/or Sundays. An example of this might be setting the peak factor value to ‘1.5’ thus taking a £10 journey in normal hours to £15 at peak times.
Our new Custom Peak Pricing feature allows for a Peak Factor to be set for a specific date range. Taxi companies can set up as many dates as they need in their TaxiMap member profile and apply a peak factor value to each. If a taxi booking is requested during a custom date range, the peak factor will be applied to the overall cost and the customer will be notified.
